Homecoming week at Sam Houston state is full of fun events, ways to reach out, ways to show off your organization, and interact with the school and community. The Sam Houston Wesley checked off the list of every homecoming event that was offered to show some bearkat spirit! The week kicked off with stock the pantry, in which the donation efforts of the Wesley and several other organizations were able to make a large contribution to the SHSU Food Pantry. Students at the Wesley also designed and painted our homecoming banner to hang in the mall of campus to help represent the “Bearkat Safari” theme. On Wednesday after a night of worship at the Wesley, several council members stuck it out through the rain to visit Sam Jam Carnival. On Thursday the Ministry machine towed the Wesley float in the Sam Houston and Huntsville High School homecoming parade. Members could be spotted dressed as various animals (or dinosaurs) and safari folk passing out candy to the community from the jeep float. On Friday, a group of Wesley bearkats got to go enjoy a showing of “Crazy Rich Asians,” in the LSC theater together and to finish off the week of course we got to enjoy watching Sam Houston beat Southeastern Louisiana in our homecoming football game! We can’t wait to show our spirit next year in the 2019 homecoming!
