The Wesley Bearkats came away victorious this Wednesday, April 11, 2018 with a Sammy Award for outstanding religious organization. This is the 5th win for the Wesley out of the 6 years we’ve gotten a nomination. The Wesley has had a great year of service for the community in events and with other service organizations such as FUMC’s great day of service, SHSU all paws in, Bearkat community gardens, UM Army, Habitat for humanity, Hospitality house, Hurricane Harvey relief, and so much more. We’ve also had a great year of serving the SHSU student population by being a home away from home with countless free meals, fellowship opportunities, spiritual growth opportunities, and simply being a place to study and take a break between classes. We are grateful for this recognition from Sam Houston State and we are excited to look ahead to another of embodying our SHSU motto: “The measure of a life is its service.”
