FAQs
Nope. Anyone from any denomination and faith background is welcome to come and participate in events, small groups, and worship. Typically, only half of our crew has experience in the Methodist Church. Others come from backgrounds like Catholic, Lutheran, Salvation Army, Baptist, Non-Denom, Presbyterian. Plus, many who become a part of our Wesley crew do not have much religious background at all, if any. That is something we pride ourselves on.
Wesley’s doors open at 10 am and are open into the night, every day of the week, Monday through Friday. Just walk in and hang out between classes, and stay a little later if you need to work on homework or just need a place to get away from your dorm. Our Wesley building is 9,200 square feet, and offers rooms for studying, a couch room for relaxing and gaming, a computer lab, a dining area, and a living area for watching Netflix, DVDs, or hanging out with others. For a lot of college students, Wesley is their “home away from home”.
All students who live off campus and in Bearkat Village and Raven Village are welcome to park at the Wesley during the week, anytime, 24-7. Students who live in dorms on campus cannot park in our parking lot due to limited space. To maintain parking privileges a student needs to participate in two growth events per week (worship, small group or service projects). If they commit to that, they get to park in the Wesley parking lot, 24-7, for FREE. Sounds like a good deal, huh? Each student receives a permanent parking sticker after their first semester at the Wesley. If multiple students live together in the same apartment, we encourage them to carpool.
You are considered an active member at Wesley when you fill out a Bearkat Profile Sheet and turn it in, and then participate in fellowship events, bible studies, or worship on a regular basis.
Yes! Worship is a valued part of Wednesday night service. If you are looking for a way to get involved by singing, playing an instrument, or running sound/technology, then our praise team is the place for you! Speak to our Worship Intern ([email protected]) about getting in the rotation. Practices are typically on Monday nights at 6pm.
